New Orleans & the River Parishes
Vibration Analysis Training in New Orleans & the River Parishes
Vibration analysis training in New Orleans covers river terminals, process plants and the metro’s large drainage pumping stations. New Orleans-area plants, terminals and utilities can send analysts to our Houston-area public classes, a short flight from MSY, or have Failure Prevention Associates deliver a private Category I or II vibration analysis class in the metro or the river parishes.

Where Vibration Analysis Training in New Orleans Takes Place
FPA does not have a classroom in New Orleans. Our public classes are held in Pearland, Texas, south of Houston, near our mill test lab. We travel to Greater New Orleans and the river parishes for on-site team training.

On-site vibration analysis training in New Orleans uses your own running equipment for the practicals.
Two Ways to Get Vibration Analysis Training in New Orleans
Path 1
On-Site Vibration Analysis Training in New Orleans
Teams that run large pumping stations, river terminals or plant utilities often can’t release several people at once. A private on-site class can be scheduled around storm season and taught on the pumps and motors those teams maintain.
What we bring:
Step by step
How Vibration Analysis Training in New Orleans Works
- Tell us about your team. Send the number of analysts, their experience and the equipment they look after, for example large vertical and low-speed drainage pumps and their motors.
- Pick the format. Choose a private class at your plant in Greater New Orleans & the river parishes, or book seats at a public class in Pearland, about 350 miles from New Orleans.
- Train for four days. Classroom sessions plus hands-on practicals on running machinery. Grain elevator legs, conveyors and dust-collection fans and similar assets make good practical subjects for New Orleans teams.
- Sit the exam. The certification exam is taken on day four. Analysts who pass and meet the experience requirement earn their ISO 18436-2 credential.
That is the whole process for vibration analysis training in New Orleans, whether you are training one new analyst or certifying a full crew.

The same curriculum applies to every vibration analysis training in New Orleans class, on-site or public.
Greater New Orleans & the river parishes
Vibration Training for River Terminals, Plants and Municipal Pumping
The river parishes upriver and downriver from New Orleans are lined with refineries, chemical plants, grain elevators and bulk terminals. The city also has a long history of food processing, including coffee roasting and sugar refining, and the region’s shipbuilding and marine repair yards support Gulf and river traffic.
The metro also runs some of the largest stormwater pumping stations in the world. They include very large, slow-speed pumps and motors that must start reliably after sitting idle between storms. Slow-speed and intermittent machines are among the hardest to analyze, and the Category II course explains why low-frequency measurement and setup choices matter.

What New Orleans Teams Can Ask Us to Emphasize
Metro New Orleans teams often maintain equipment that runs only part of the time, from storm pumps to seasonal processing lines. An on-site class can focus on testing and trending intermittent machines, setting realistic alarm levels for slow-speed equipment, and making sure standby units are ready before they’re needed. River terminal teams can also ask about transfer pumps that run under widely varying loads.
