Instrumentation and Electrical Technician (I&E Tech)

Job Description

  • High School education or equivalent, required
  • Maintaining a current, valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, required
  • Must have basic knowledge of electronic instrumentation and automation equipment used in hydraulic fracturing operations
  • Must be able to follow detailed verbal and written instructions
  • Clear communication skills, can effectively interact with team members and supervisors
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications and able to quickly learn other work-related software
  • Must be willing and able to make schedule adjustments when required and work alternate shifts as requested by supervisor
  • Must be safety conscious and willing to use stop work authority when necessary
  • Must be physically able to safely operate light duty trucks and drive a company vehicle day or night, on all road types, and in all weather conditions
  • Must be physically able to safely to perform duties during a 12+ hour work shift that will include days or nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be physically able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crawl, walk on uneven surfaces, and climb equipment ladders or stairs throughout the work shift
  • Must be physically able to occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs
  • Must be physically able to withstand frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals, airborne particles, and moderate to loud noises

Responsibilities

  • The Instrument and Electrical Technician has the skills to diagnose, repair, calibrate and perform preventative maintenance on all electronic instrumentation used to monitor or control industrial service equipment
  • Basic multimeter functions, tool assignment, wire soldering, wire termination, equipment voltage, electronic instrument repair, automation equipment repair, electronic monitoring calibration, control equipment calibration, utilizing diagnostic software, procedures for completing paperwork, etc.)
  • Use organization issued laptop or phone to navigate emails and utilize internal software programs (i.e., SharePoint, Power App, work order system, diagnostic software, etc.)
  • Work from technical manuals and electrical schematics to diagnose and repair equipment failures
  • Must be proficient using HART calibration analyzer.
  • Operate light duty trucks
  • Remain available for schedule adjustments and on call duties when required
  • Safely drive vehicle day or night, over various road types or terrains, and in all weather conditions
  • Perform general housekeeping and routine maintenance of the organization’s property
  • Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Other duties as assigned

The Instrument and Electrical Technician has the skills required to diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on all electronic instrumentation used to monitor or control industrial service equipment.

  • Must be proficiently skilled to diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on all electronic instrumentation used to monitor or control oilfield service equipment (i.e., basic multimeter functions, tool assignment, wire soldering, wire termination, equipment voltage, electronic instrument repair, automation equipment repair, electronic monitoring calibration, control equipment calibration, utilizing diagnostic software, procedures for completing paperwork, etc.)
  • Use organization issued laptop or phone to navigate emails and utilize internal software programs (i.e., SharePoint, Power App, work order system, diagnostic software, etc.)

  • Other duties as assigned Qualifications • Minimum 5 years experience maintaining and repairing electronic instrumentation and automation equipment on industrial equipment preferred
  • An NCCER certification in Electrical and or Instrumentation or both is preferred A technical Associate degree may be considered in lieu of experience.
